Cherwell Local Plan

To accommodate Oxford’s unmet housing need, all local authorities within Oxfordshire are required to take a proportion of new homes according to their own capacity, as decided by the Oxfordshire Growth Board.

Cherwell District Council is required to plan for an additional 4,400 new homes as part of a Local Plan Review. The Local Plan Review was the subject of a wide-ranging consultation, undertaken by Cherwell District Council, and an independent review undertaken by the Government’s Planning Inspector.

The Review has now been concluded, having been agreed by the Planning Inspector and has now been formally adopted by Cherwell District Council.

As a result, several sites across the south of the district have been allocated for development. This includes site PR9, which has been identified and supported by Cherwell District Council as a suitable location for new homes.
